Shawn McCarthy Joins Collagen Matrix as CEO
Oakland, NJ (January 28, 2020) – Collagen Matrix, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn McCarthy as CEO and member of the Board of Directors, effective January 27. Mr. McCarthy is an accomplished global healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of experience in medical devices, most recently serving as General Manager of Structural Heart Valves at Boston Scientific, where he was responsible for developing and launching a range of innovative and clinically significant products and acquiring key technologies.
Prior to Boston Scientific, McCarthy was President and CEO at Tryton Medical, a privately held venture-backed startup which earned the first global approval for a dedicated coronary bifurcation stent. He also held a range of management roles with increasing responsibility at Cordis, a Johnson & Johnson company, culminating as Worldwide Vice President of Marketing for Cardiology, Endovascular, and Neurovascular. Subsequent to Johnson & Johnson, McCarthy was Senior Vice President and General Manager of both the Vascular and Oncology Surgery business units at AngioDynamics. McCarthy holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Syracuse University.
