Process
Linden adheres to a disciplined and analytical process to qualify investments.
The process begins with a rigorous application of the criteria Linden uses to evaluate investments.
Every investment opportunity presented in Linden’s weekly meeting is evaluated on four primary dimensions: the overall
attractiveness of the business and the market, the competitiveness of the transaction process, Linden’s competitive advantage
and strategic angle and the anticipated valuation.
Structure
A Linden transaction team comprised of both investment and operating professionals works together to establish the
structure and terms of the investment and, if possible, to develop a solution tailored to
the seller’s needs and
concerns. The needs of sellers are often more complex than simply the maximization of value; many family-owned
and other private businesses have non-economic goals in addition to monetary ones. For public sellers, quarterly
and year-end reporting, company morale and fair treatment of employees all factor into divestiture decisions.
The Firm has demonstrated its ability to negotiate terms and tailor transaction structures to meet sellers’
specific goals.
