Gerard Moufflet

Gerard Moufflet has extensive experience in healthcare and life science investing and operations. From 1972 to 1989, Gerard worked for Baxter International where he was in charge of various European, African Operations and Head of Worldwide Strategic Planning for the dialysis product line. When he became Corporate Vice President and Vice President of Baxter World Trade, Baxter had grown to $7 billion in sales.
From 1989 to 2001, Gerard was a Managing Director at Advent International, one of the world’s leading private equity investment firms with funds under management totaling more than $6 billion. During that period he headed the healthcare team and oversaw investments in Europe and in the United States. He participated in fund raising as well as numerous investment committe decisions for all sectors of the firm.
Gerard is CEO and Founder of Acceleration International, a private equity firm based in Boston, which invests in the healthcare sector in both Europe and the United States.
His healthcare investments have primarily focused on companies in the biotechnology, medical device and healthcare services fields. Among the companies he backed are Decode in Ireland, Sofamor Danek (Medtronic) in France and the United States, Implant Innovation Inc (Biomet) in the United States and Esaote in Italy.
Gerard currently serves on the board of three publicly held companies in the United States: American Dental Partners, Curative Health Services and Serologicals Inc. He is on the board of several privately held companies in Europe and the United States.
Gerard is a graduate of the EDHEC Business School in France, he has an MBA (1969) from the University of Pittsburgh where he was a Pittsburgh Plate Class Foundation Scholar. He is a Harvard Business School AMP (1987) and he has been honored by the President of France as a “Chevalier de l’Ordre du Merite National”.
